This Hyperhidrosis treatment works just below the surface of your skin. By blocking the nerve impulse from reaching the treatment area, the sweat glands become inactive. Your journey begins with a consultation with our Aesthetic Nurse, who will discuss your aesthetic objectives and devise a customised treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Our Hyperhidrosis treatment operates just beneath your skin’s surface, effectively blocking nerve signals to the sweat glands, rendering them inactive.
Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)
Hyperhidrosis is the condition which causes excessive sweat production and can affect anyone. If you’ve ever experienced excessive sweating, pesky sweat stains in your favourite shirts or are prone to damp underarms then a consultation with our medical team for Hyperhidrosis may be what you are looking for. Book a Cosmetic Aesthetics consult to discuss suitability for this treatment.
The low down
Sweating is a normal and essential function of the body that helps regulate temperature. It involves the eccrine glands releasing a mixture of water, sodium, and other substances onto the skin’s surface. Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, occurs when this process becomes overactive.
Excessive sweating can be classified into two types: primary and secondary hyperhidrosis. Primary hyperhidrosis is the most common form, often beginning in childhood, with an unknown cause and a possible genetic link.
Secondary hyperhidrosis results from an underlying medical condition such as hyperthyroidism, menopause, or obesity, and can affect the entire body. We advise consulting your GP to identify the underlying cause before seeking treatment.
At our clinic, we specialise in treating underarm hyperhidrosis. However, hyperhidrosis can also affect other areas such as the hands, feet, and face.
Due to the high efficacy of Hyperhidrosis treatment, most patients experience noticeable results after just one session. Results will develop for two weeks post-treatment and can last up to 9 months. We recommend coming in for maintenance re-treatments.
