Not sure what’s right for you?

With personalised care, real results and a simple approach, Clear Skincare makes my self care pure joy. And damn, that feels good.

  • Take care to avoid excessive sun exposure two weeks before and after your Microdermabrasion treatment.
  • If you have broken skin or open wounds, wait for them to fully heal before having your Microdermabrasion treatment. Similarly, if you have active cold sores or you feel the tingle of a cold sore coming on, wait until you’re clear and tingle-free before having your treatment.
  • Microdermabrasion treatment isn’t suitable for anyone with active acne, very sensitive skin or skin conditions such as inflamed, red or raw skin. Cosmetic Injecting clients should leave two weeks between their last Cosmetic Aesthetic treatment and Microdermabrasion.

Following your microdermabrasion, aftercare is required for 2 days to heal, hydrate and protect the skin.

FAQs

Not at all. Microdermabrasion mechanically removes the outer layer of dead skin cells. Hydrafacial™ will also achieve this type of exfoliation but in a much gentler way due to the patented Vortex-Fusion technology. It also has the bonus of extracting dirt and oil from pores, stimulating skin cell regeneration with a custom chemical peel and infusing the skin with antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid for hydration. The results achieved are superior to that of just a microdermabrasion.

Microdermabrasion treatment works in two parts. Firstly, a diamond-tipped wand gently exfoliates the surface of your skin to remove the unwanted matter. Then, a vacuum sucks up the removed debris and impurities while simultaneously stimulating blood flow to the surface.

Yes. Absolutely. All skin needs exfoliation to stay healthy, but as we age this process slows. By removing the dead and dry outer layer of the skin’s surface, Microdermabrasion reveals fresh and healthy skin underneath. This process not only makes the skin appear less congested but also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, both of which promote new healthy skin-cell growth. The end result: brighter skin.

If you’re looking to up your skincare game and go beyond over-the-counter products and at-home treatments, Microdermabrasion is a great way to exfoliate the skin, clear congestion and blackheads, refine open pores, improve tone and texture and reveal a healthy-looking glow.

You‘ll notice a difference after just one treatment, but we recommend a programme of 3 – 6 treatments spaced two weeks apart to achieve superior, radiant skin. After that, a monthly Microdermabrasion treatment will keep your skin in tip-top working order. It’s also a great idea to combine Microdermabrasion treatments with monthly skin peels and LED Light treatments to achieve ongoing skin fitness.

Clinical Microdermabrasion treatment does create new elastin and collagen in the skin, which in turn helps to smooth acne scars – however, there are far better acne scarring treatment options available these days. For acne scars, at Clear Skincare we recommend skin-needling treatments such as Skin Needling, or the Rolls Royce of skin needling: SkinPen. In summary, Microdermabrasion is a brilliant treatment option if you’re looking to maintain optimum skin health, but no longer the most effective way to reduce the appearance of acne scars.

Microdermabrasion treatment is quick and easy. It takes approximately 20 minutes for full Microdermabrasion or 15 minutes for an Express Microdermabrasion.
