Lumixa is an innovative new hyperpulsed light treatment from Italian skin scientists, FB Dermatology. It features a ground-breaking gel that’s activated by blue LED light. When the patented gel is excited by an LED machine, it transforms into Fluorescent Light Energy – simultaneously rejuvenating the skin with the entire light spectrum; from blue to green, through yellow and deep down to red.
The low down
Lumixa is suitable for all skin types 1 – 6. Because it’s pain-free, it’s perfect for those more sensitive to pain and intensive treatments. There are currently two Lumixa treatment options. Lumixa can also be combined before or after invasive treatments to calm inflammation.
Lumixa Skin Normaliser is perfect for anyone looking to prevent and combat redness, inflammation and early signs of ageing, with a revitalising effect.
Lumixa Collagen Booster is an anti-ageing treatment to correct and improve skin density, texture, fine lines and pore size.
All Lumixa treatments start with a course of five treatments. Some clients may need more treatments depending on the severity of their skin condition.
Individual ‘top up’ treatments are recommended as part of an ongoing maintenance plan as and when required.
Immediately after each Lumixa treatment, you can expect to see a temporary ‘bronzing’ of the skin, which some call a ‘Hollywood glow’. In some clients, temporary darkening of freckles, sunspots, and pigmentation is possible. If any of these, including Melasma, are your primary skin concerns, Lumixa may not be the treatment for you. Discuss this and other treatment options with your therapist.
No. Lumixa is pain-free, non-invasive, and the gel doesn’t absorb into the skin. During the treatment, you may feel tingling and warmth as the gel and light work together. Don’t worry; this is entirely normal.
Lumixa is a progressive skin therapy, with a program of 5 treatments spaced one week apart from each other. Because it’s non-invasive and non-systemic, Lumixa can also be combined with other treatments to improve and enhance overall results.

In most cases, significant improvements are noticeable during the last couple of weeks of a five week, standard treatment protocol.
Since Lumixa stimulates the skin’s biological processes, it continues to improve the skin in the weeks following the end of the treatment protocol.
To avoid irritation or discomfort on your newly resurfaced skin, do not exfoliate or use retinol or AHA products for at least seven days following your peel. Steer clear of the gym and any sort of excessive heat sources like a sauna or hot tub for 24 hours after, and drink plenty of water to protect your skin.
It is essential to use recommended homecare prescribed by your skin therapist to maintain your skin’s health and optimal regeneration.
Since Lumixa is not systemically absorbed, non-photo sensitising with no serious side effects, it can be combined with most homecare products.
We recommend not to use retinol (or vitamin A) during the treatment since it can produce significant sensitivities.
