FAQs

Good question. There are several causes: excessive scrubbing, exposure to the sun, facial injuries or trauma, consumption of alcohol or spicy foods and using water on your skin that’s too hot may stimulate capillaries to break. Broken capillaries can also be hereditary.

Absolutely. The laser works by delivering a focused beam of light that is absorbed into the red blood vessels. The beam directs intense heat to the damaged vessel which either destroys it or causes the vessel walls to contract, which reduces redness and the visibility of broken capillaries.

It depends on the person and their lifestyle. At Clear Skincare, we highly recommend completing a full course of treatments to completely shut down the vein and extend the results for as long as possible. Some lifestyle factors such as exercise and diet can cause some veins to come back after treatment – so, following this initial course of three treatments, some people return for yearly maintenance, or just as they see any veins appear.

Yes, Laser Red Vein Removal works on a range of red veins that may appear on the face, neck and chest, such as spider angiomas (also called spider veins), telangiectasia (also called thread veins) and cherry angiomas, which are less like veins, but more like raised red bumps which are also caused by broken capillaries.

Some vessels may shrink or disappear altogether during the treatment, while others may initially darken before disappearing over the next 2 weeks. Large and stubborn veins may reduce in size and require ongoing maintenance. In order to extend the treatment results, we recommend completing an initial course of three treatments to ensure the treated veins are collapsed completely.
